Gastrointestinal mucormycosis is a rare but severe fungal infection caused by fungi of the order Mucorales, often affecting immunocompromised individuals. Diagnosis

Clinical Presentation: Symptoms include abdominal pain, gastrointestinal bleeding, and bowel obstruction. 27

Imaging: Abdominal CT or MRI may show characteristic findings such as bowel wall thickening and necrosis. 27

Histopathology: Definitive diagnosis through biopsy with characteristic fungal hyphae on microscopy and culture. 27
