Management
In a multicenter prospective randomized trial [PMID:20122682], no significant differences were found between modified Limberg flap transposition and Karydakis flap reconstruction in terms of complication rate, length of hospital stay, or recurrence rate.
The study [PMID:20122682] noted that patients in the Karydakis group felt completely healed more quickly postoperatively, despite similar satisfaction rates between the groups.
Complications
More patients in the Karydakis group required withdrawal from the study due to the orifice straying from the midline compared to the modified Limberg flap group [PMID:20122682].
