Closed fracture dislocation multiple digits

Last edited:

Epidemiology

The cohort of 39 patients (average age 28.5 years) included 24 cases resulting from road traffic accidents and 15 from industrial devices, highlighting the demographic and etiological factors associated with such injuries [PMID:28392073].

Management

In a series of 39 patients with traumatic degloving injuries involving multiple digits, microsurgical fabrication using modified ALT and DPA flaps in various combined designs successfully covered extensive defects with 100% flap survival and no peri-operative complications [PMID:28392073].

Prognosis & Follow-up

The study reports an average follow-up period of 12 months, during which all flaps survived without complications, indicating positive long-term prognosis for patients treated with this reconstructive technique [PMID:28392073].
