Management

From 2007 to 2011, 5 patients underwent this nerve transfer procedure with a mean follow-up of 31 months, resulting in three patients achieving Medical Research Council grade 3 or better in the medial head of the gastrocnemius muscle [PMID:26650845].

Complications

No complications related to the surgery were reported, and specifically, thigh adduction function remained unaffected in all patients [PMID:26650845].

Prognosis & Follow-up

Follow-up evaluations spanning 24 to 38 months post-surgery indicated sustained improvement without reported complications [PMID:26650845].
