Management

In a case series of 6 patients with severe neurotrophic ulcers treated with topical RGTA (1 drop every second day), complete corneal epithelialization was achieved in 2 patients (33%) [PMID:26845313].

Complications

One patient in the study experienced corneal perforation despite treatment with RGTA [PMID:26845313].

Prognosis & Follow-up

None of the patients showed improvement in best-corrected visual acuity following RGTA therapy [PMID:26845313].
