Duodenal papillary stenosis

Last edited:

Management

Papillotomy was successfully performed in all 10 patients, including 3 with papillary stenosis, with no significant complications reported [PMID:963418].

In 5 out of 7 patients with common bile duct stones, stones were either passed spontaneously or extracted endoscopically using balloon catheters or baskets post-papillotomy [PMID:963418].

Complications

One patient experienced impaction of a stone and retrieval basket requiring surgical removal two days after endoscopic papillotomy [PMID:963418].
