Duodenal anastomotic stricture

Last edited:

Management

A 2-month-old child with a symptomatic massively dilated duodenum underwent TFD, demonstrating successful resolution of symptoms without compromising duodenal absorptive mucosa [PMID:29541848].

Complications

The patient experienced a soft anastomotic duodeno-ileal stenosis post-TFD, which resolved after three elective balloon dilatations [PMID:29541848].

Prognosis & Follow-up

The treated child showed rapid establishment of oral feeding, normal growth, absence of vomiting, and appropriate bowel movements, indicating a positive prognosis [PMID:29541848].
