Infection of palmar space

Last edited:

Management

In a prospective study of pediatric palmar burns, FTSG resulted in significantly enhanced pliability compared to SSG (P < .001) at a mean follow-up of 13.5 months [PMID:23237823].

Complications

The study found no significant difference in the incidence of contractures between FTSG and SSG groups, particularly noting that grafts extending onto the digits were more commonly affected [PMID:23237823].

Prognosis & Follow-up

At follow-up, hair growth was significantly more prominent in FTSG sites compared to SSG sites (P = .002) [PMID:23237823].
