Management

In a study of 35 patients, the n-HA/PA composite strut demonstrated significant improvement in Japanese Orthopedic Association scores and visual analog pain scale scores, maintained over an average follow-up of 38.5 months [PMID:22305868].

Complications

Only one patient experienced subsidence of the strut and screw dislodgement without requiring additional surgery or causing discomfort [PMID:22305868].

Prognosis & Follow-up

Radiographic bony fusion was achieved in 94.3% of patients by the 24-month follow-up, with maintained cervical curvature and segment height correction [PMID:22305868].
