Management
TMRLD demonstrated comparable improvements in lagophthalmos and marginal reflex distance 1 compared to gold weight implantation, with no statistically significant differences in visual acuity changes [PMID:38215464].
Complications
Both surgical methods showed comparable complication rates (15.4% vs. 15.0%) and reoperation rates (15.4% vs. 15.0%) over the follow-up period [PMID:38215464].
Prognosis & Follow-up
The median follow-up duration for TMRLD was significantly shorter (121.0 ± 177.8 days) compared to gold weight implantation (291.6 ± 437.3 days) [PMID:38215464].
