Lipohyperplasia of ileocecal valve

Last edited:

Clinical Presentation

The paper highlights the importance of recognizing anatomic variants and pathologies such as lipohyperplasia through CT Colonography, which can manifest clinically as altered valve morphology or mass-like lesions [PMID:17387541].

Diagnosis

Combined analysis of 2D axial and reformatted slices and 3D endoluminal views provides the highest level of diagnostic accuracy for identifying pathologies including lipohyperplasia of the ileocecal valve [PMID:17387541].

Differential Diagnosis

Endoscopic correlation is discussed as essential for distinguishing between benign anatomic variations and pathologic conditions, aiding in the differential diagnosis of lipohyperplasia [PMID:17387541].
