Overview

Carious exposure of pulp refers to the process where dental caries penetrate the enamel and dentin, reaching the dental pulp, potentially leading to inflammation or infection within the pulp chamber. This condition necessitates prompt clinical intervention to prevent complications such as abscess formation or systemic infection.

Diagnosis

  • Clinical signs include tooth sensitivity to thermal changes, pain on biting, and visible caries extending close to or into the pulp.
